Evaluation of Interact 2019
The Interact public engagement symposium took place in September 2019 at the University of Central Lancashire. It was attended by over 200 delegates.
The key aim of Interact was to further cultivate a community of engagement practitioners within the physical sciences who develop high quality STEM engagement and support a culture of strategic and reflective practice.

Building on the outcomes of the 2017 Interact symposium and its evaluation report, the 2019 report:
- highlights what worked well
- draws out on lessons learned
- makes further recommendations to assist anyone who may wish to plan for a similar event.
The report also:
- showcases the rich landscape for outreach and public engagement that currently exists in the physical sciences across the UK
- highlights opportunities for its continued development and how we can best support it in future.

Our evaluation framework provides an approach that aids the systematic planning and evaluation of public engagement activities. Its aim is to help report, improve, and celebrate the outcomes and impacts of public engagement.
Pathways to Excellence in Public Engagement
The Pathways to Excellence in Public Engagement report explores the issues encountered by STFC grant applicants and panel members with Pathways to Impact. It examines the various stages of the peer review system, from pre-award planning to post-award monitoring and reporting.

Planning for Impact
Arising from the Pathways to Excellence report, ‘Planning for Impact with Public Engagement and beyond’ is a guidance document for grant applicants, peer reviewers, and panel members. It provides advice on high-quality impact planning, and the production of Pathways to Impact as part of UKRI grant applications.
