Safeguarding good scientific practice

We expect the highest standards of scientific integrity to be adhered to by the researchers and students we fund.

Read Safeguarding good scientific practice.

We have a responsibility to ensure that the funds we invest are spent properly, in accordance with the law and in the public interest. Included within this responsibility is a need to draw the attention of members of the scientific community funded by us to the need to conduct their research, and to be seen to do so, according to best scientific practice.

The Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC) Safeguarding Good Scientific Practice statement brings together a set of principles for good scientific practice and sets out our expectations for individuals and organisations towards ensuring the research and the support of research funded by BBSRC is conducted to the highest standards.
