COVID-19 restriction
To help us with data analysis, do not include the words ‘COV-19’, ‘COVID-19’ or ‘Coronavirus’ in the lay summary, technical summary or title sections unless your application relates to proposed research in this area.
Submit using Je-S
Researchers and administrators can prepare research grant and fellowship proposals online in the Joint Electronic Submission (Je-S) system. You can also download a proposal to work on it offline and then upload the completed proposal before you submit it.
Please ensure that you have selected the correct scheme and call on Je-S before beginning your proposal.
You should submit your research proposal using Je-S.

Registering to use Je-S
To apply using Je-S, organisations and applicants must be registered users.
Organisations must be registered before individuals can register as a user.
Individual applicants wishing to access Je-S for the first time are asked to check with their central administration on the status of their organisation’s Je-S registration before pursuing the option of creating an account on the system
The user must select their own user ID and password during the registration process.
Information to include in your proposal
All proposals must be accompanied by a case for support which should contain a full justification for all resources requested (other than indirect and estates costs).
Other supporting documents will also be required.
Check the guidance on what to include in your proposal and the appropriate funding opportunity to make sure you give us all the details we need.
Submission deadlines
When preparing any proposal for a STFC research grant, please take account of the closing date for the funding opportunity to which you are applying. If you miss the funding opportunity deadline then STFC will not accept your proposal.
Proposals must be submitted by 4pm on the closing date.
