  • build interdisciplinary partnerships
  • involve stakeholders
  • develop future research plans.

Early technology development and equipment for STFC grant holders

You must currently hold an STFC core programme grant in one of these areas:

  • nuclear physics
  • particle physics and particle astrophysics

Digital twins are virtual representations of an object or system updated from real-time data. They use simulation, machine learning and reasoning to help decision-making.

You and your organisation must be eligible for NERC funding.

Apply for funding to establish, maintain and enhance bioinformatics and biological resources to support the UK bioscience research community.

You must hold a research staff appointment at lecturer level, or equivalent, at a research organisation eligible for UKRI funding.

You must be either:

  • a researcher or research software engineer at an eligible research organisation
  • an employee of an eligible public sector research establishment.

You can be from any area of the UK research community. You do not need to be working within EPSRC’s remit.

Apply for funding to develop international research networks to address challenges around peace and trust.

You must be a principal investigator at an eligible research organisation.

Your research networking activities must:

  • address challenges highlighted by the 2021 UN ‘International Year of Peace and Trust’
  • be within AHRC’s remit
  • involve collaboration with international partners.

Develop solutions for endemic livestock disease

Apply to develop research ideas for addressing endemic diseases in livestock.

Anyone with an interest in this area can get involved, for example:

  • farmers
  • businesses
  • veterinary practitioners
  • researchers from any discipline.

The first stage is a series of online workshop sessions over 2 weeks where:

  • farmers explain the challenges relating to endemic diseases
  • groups develop ideas for proposals based on these challenges.

Future of language research fellowships

Apply for funding for a research fellowship. Your work will help AHRC decide which areas of language research to support.

You must:

  • hold a PhD (or have equivalent professional experience) in languages, linguistics or a related field
  • be engaged in postdoctoral research at an eligible research organisation.
