You must have the ambition to make real changes.

Apply for impact acceleration account (IAA) funding to help your organisation’s research have an impact.

Your organisation must be eligible for funding from one of these councils:

  • AHRC
  • BBSRC
  • EPSRC
  • STFC
  • MRC.

To be eligible to apply for EPSRC funding, your organisation must have been invited.

Developing engineering biology breakthrough ideas

Apply for funding to develop breakthrough ideas in engineering biology.

Your project must focus on one of the following themes from the National Engineering Biology Programme:

  • bio-inspired design
  • novel materials
  • bioengineered cells and systems.

You must be of lecturer level or above and based at an eligible research organisation.

Develop new manufacturing instrumentation

Apply for funding to create new instruments that help solve a manufacturing challenge.

You must be a researcher at a UK organisation eligible for UKRI funding.

Software for research communities

Apply for funding to adapt or maintain existing software used by researchers.

You must be a UK resident based at an organisation eligible for UKRI funding.

You can use the funding for:

  • development and re-engineering of existing software
  • maintenance activities
  • activities that widen participation in development and maintenance.
