Statements of Need for National Research Facilities

This is the seventh funding opportunity for Statements of Need for new and existing National Research Facilities that will support excellent engineering and physical sciences research. These facilities provide leading edge capabilities and technique development at a national level or access to European research facilities.

Transforming foundation industries hub

Apply for £4.7 million funding for a cross-sector, multidisciplinary research and innovation hub. The hub should link innovators with industry to address foundation industries’ challenges. Open to investigators from all disciplines supported by UKRI.

Precision manufacturing: full proposal stage

You can apply for funding to research technologies and platforms needed for high nanoscale-precision manufacturing at scale. This funding is part of the EPSRC Manufacturing the Future theme.

This opportunity is only open to applicants who were successful at the outline stage.

Prosperity partnerships: fourth round

Up to £20 million is available for business-led research partnerships in low technology readiness programmes.

Partnerships must:

  • address EPSRC’s delivery plan priority framework
  • aim to deliver economic and social prosperity for the UK.

You may submit a full proposal if you were successful at the outline stage.

EPSRC fellowships: early and established career

This scheme aims to support and develop early and established career researchers to develop world-leading research that will meet UK and global priorities. You can get funding for up to five years. Your project can focus on any topic in the EPSRC portfolio.

EPSRC fellowships: postdoctoral

This scheme aims to support and develop postdoctoral researchers to develop world-leading research that will meet UK and global priorities. You can get funding for up to three years. Your project must fit one of our strategic priority areas.

UK-Canada Globalink doctoral exchange scheme

A new and exciting opportunity for UKRI and Canadian doctoral students to participate in a UK-Canada research exchange scheme.

Now open for the third round for applications from UKRI funded doctoral students until 15 December 2020, the UK-Canada Globalink doctoral exchange scheme will support travel, living and research costs for the students in their chosen field of study. Following a competitive application process, the first exchanges will take place from April 2021.
