UKRI Centres for Doctoral Training in artificial intelligence

Apply for funding for a Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) focused on the applications and implications of artificial intelligence (AI).

You must be based at a UK research organisation eligible for UKRI funding and have been successful at the outline stage.

Proposals are welcomed within priority areas addressing UK training needs in novel and existing AI technologies across the remit of UKRI.

You must:

  • focus your project on methods research within MRC or NIHR remit
  • be a researcher employed by an eligible research organisation (this includes MRC units and centres)

Collaborate with researchers in Norway

UKRI and RCN have signed a Money Follows Cooperation agreement to enable collaborative applications between researchers in the UK and Norway. UKRI funding will be provided for co-investigators from Norway in successful applications.

Conditions will differ depending on the funding opportunity.

Apply for funding to develop and test novel therapeutics, medical devices, diagnostics and other interventions.

You must:

  • be based at a research organisation eligible for MRC funding
  • meet individual eligibility requirements

The guidance should aim to:

  • improve the understanding and use of better methods related to the remit of MRC or NIHR
  • be accessible to those without specialist methodology knowledge

You must be a researcher employed by an eligible research organisation.

Apply for funding to develop your research interests through a collaborative partnership.

You must be a research-qualified healthcare professional at consultant level or equivalent. You must not be currently undertaking any substantial research activity.

You must have a research partner based at an eligible research organisation.
