Commercialising Knowledge Assets Fund (CKAF) spring

UK registered government research organisations can apply for grants from £50,000 up to £250,000 to move viable public sector knowledge assets towards commercial readiness. This funding is provided by the Government Office for Technology Transfer (GOTT).

International Placement Scheme 2026

Apply to undertake a placement at an international cultural institution. You must either be:

  • a PhD student funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) or Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC)
  • an early career researcher based at a UK research organisation eligible for UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) funding

Energy Catalyst round 11, mid stage

Organisations can apply for a share of up to £7 million across the three strands of the competition.

This is for energy access in official development assistance eligible countries in sub-Saharan Africa, South Asia, the Indo Pacific region and Latin America.

ADOPT Facilitator Support Grant: round six

Farming, growing or forestry businesses based in England can apply for a grant of £2,500, to engage an external project facilitator to support the development of a full ADOPT grant application.

Creative Industries Clusters: round two: outline stage

Apply for funding to deliver a Creative Industries Cluster to address a challenge for the creative industries in a specific geography, sub-sector or both. Clusters should focus on regional economic growth through applied R&D. You must be based at a UK research organisation eligible for AHRC funding.

Nucleus Public Engagement Awards 2026

Apply for funding to engage the public with Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) supported science or raise engagement capacity in STFC communities, or both.

You must work for an organisation that:

  • is based in the UK
  • has audited accounts

Proposals must include a subject matter expert in an STFC-funded area.

Research and partnership hubs for a healthy society (invite only)

Apply for funding to establish a large-scale multidisciplinary research hub drawing on expertise across the EPSRC and health research community to support people to live healthier lives and prevent ill health.

You must be based at a UK research organisation eligible for EPSRC funding.

Turing AI pioneer interdisciplinary fellowships (invite only)

Apply for fellowship funding to build artificial intelligence (AI) capability.

This funding opportunity is for established researchers from across UK Research and Innovation (UKRI)’s remit, without a background in core AI research, who want to build domain relevant AI capability.

You may apply only if invited to do so following a successful outline application.

Pre-announcement: Northern Ireland Election Study 2026 to 2031

This is a pre-announcement for the opportunity to run the Northern Ireland Election Study (NIES) between 2026 and 2036, and the funding for the 2027 devolved election and the 2029 UK general election in Northern Ireland.

You must be based at a UK research organisation eligible for ESRC funding.

Pre-announcement: British Election Study 2027-2032

Apply for the opportunity to run the British Election Study between 2027 and 2037, and the funding for the 2029 UK general election in Great Britain and surveys aligned to local elections.
