Details

The new deal for postgraduate research was first proposed by government in the 2020 research and development roadmap. It is intended to encompass a range of policy and funding measures to support the government’s longstanding commitment to research as a means to drive innovation for the good of society.

UK Research and Innovation held a call for input on the issues that the new deal for postgraduate research should consider in 2022. It published an analysis of responses to the call for input in May 2023.

This response to the call for input considers the issues raised in the analysis and sets out how we are responding to them.
