BBSRC research and innovation campuses
The five Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC) research and innovation campuses build research and innovation ecosystems centred around areas of research and innovation excellence. Each campus has:
- a different bioscience focus area
- unique flagship facilities
- a diverse range of support, such as accelerator programmes

STFC campuses
Together with partners from the public and private sector, the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) has built exciting ecosystems adjacent to its national laboratories that enable and facilitate innovation, increase productivity and grow businesses.
Each campus is home to hundreds of like-minded businesses and scientists, providing an environment that fosters and inspires collaboration and connectivity in a truly unique way.

STFC industrial clusters
STFC builds thriving and collaborative sector communities in places where there is a critical mass of knowledge and activity. STFC’s dedicated Cluster Managers connect innovators into a wide network of public and private sector partners and unique research infrastructure, enabling disruptive innovation to flourish.

NERC environmental research innovation centres
Businesses and researchers can access innovation and collaboration opportunities delivered by research centres and strategic delivery partners supported by the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC). These include:
- British Antarctic Survey’s Aurora Innovation Centre, which offers collaboration space and helps build partnerships with individuals, academics and businesses interested in environment and polar research
- National Oceanography Centre’s Marine Robotics Innovation Centre, which hosts a community of innovative companies developing technology to aid and advance oceanographic research
- The UK Centre for Ecology & Hydrology, which collaborates with businesses and helps commercialise ecology and hydrology research
- The British Geological Survey’s business development team, which collaborates with businesses and helps commercialise geological research
