Industrial clusters

Overview

STFC has pioneered the identification and development of industrial clusters for almost a decade. Through our deep knowledge of the UK economy, and what is driving productivity, we build thriving and collaborative sector communities, also known as clusters, in regions where there already exists a critical mass of knowledge and activity.

The truly novel and exciting thing about the STFC cluster model lies in the our ability to connect innovators into a wider network of public and private sector partners and unique science and research infrastructure, enabling disruptive innovation to flourish within and across industries and geographies.

Each cluster, anchored at one of our campuses, is developed and managed by a dedicated manager who has expert knowledge and experience within their field. As well as providing hands-on support for incubation, acceleration, funding, technical partnerships and expertise, STFC’s Cluster Managers offer invaluable connections between people.
