Our international offices

UKRI India

Research and innovation collaboration between the UK and India – one of the world’s fastest growing economies and a major research power – drives shared prosperity and advances joint development goals. At UKRI India, we play a key role in enhancing this partnership.

Since our New Delhi office opened in 2008, the UK and Indian governments, and third parties, have together invested over £300 million in co-funded research and innovation programmes.

This investment has brought about more than 250 individual projects, involving over 100 industry partners and 175 UK and Indian research institutions.

UKRI India works closely with UK partners including the British Council, UK Science and Innovation Network, India, Department for International Trade and Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office. Together, we ensure a coordinated UK effort in influencing and collaborating with Indian partners.
