Overview

The Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC) research committees and the Pool of Experts play a key role in delivering our mission through participation in the assessment of research grant applications, and identification of the highest quality research for investment.

Each research committee has a core membership that is complemented by additional members drawn from the Pool of Experts. This ensures the appropriate expertise is available to assess the applications received.

Core and pool members bring important assessment skills and expertise to BBSRC and gain valuable insights into how grants are assessed.
