You can apply to make your organisation eligible for UKRI funding if you are not already on the list. You should check that your organisation is eligible first.
When applying for eligibility, you should aim to do so early to give time for checks. You will need to do this before you can apply to a funding programme accepting applications from your type of organisation.
The eligibility assessment involves consideration by the nominated council as well as UKRI’s funding assurance team. It looks at your application against the criteria set out in the research councils’ joint statement on eligibility (PDF, 22KB).
How you apply depends on what you are applying as.
Apply as a research institute or independent research organisation
To be eligible as either a research institute or independent research organisation you will need to complete two forms:
- an application for eligibility for UKRI funding (WORD, 43KB)
- self-assessment for eligibility under full economic costs (WORD, 107KB).
There is no deadline and you can apply at any time.
