Professor Andrea Doeschl Wilson is a research group leader at the Roslin Institute in Scotland.
Andrea and her team’s research investigates how the genetics of farm animals affects infectious disease spread.
This is essential to help farmers and breeders identify animals that are at higher risk. Reducing the spread of these infectious diseases also helps to reduce emissions from agriculture, a small part to helping to solve the climate crisis.
Angela says:
I believe that new research combined with new technologies could greatly reduce the number of farm animals that succumb to disease every year.
