  • be an early career researcher
  • hold a doctorate in a relevant subject or have equivalent professional experience

Early independence: career development fellowship

Apply for an early independence fellowship if your research focus is within Medical Research Council (MRC) remit.

You must:

  • have a PhD or equivalent
  • show evidence of career consolidation and productivity
  • show clear plans for establishing your own research niche that enables a step-change towards independence

Commercialising Knowledge Assets Fund (CKAF) spring

UK registered government research organisations can apply for grants from £50,000 up to £250,000 to move viable public sector knowledge assets towards commercial readiness. This funding is provided by the Government Office for Technology Transfer (GOTT).

Developmental pathway funding scheme: invited stage two

Apply for funding to develop and test novel therapeutics, medical devices, diagnostics and other interventions.

You must be employed at a research organisation eligible for Medical Research Council (MRC) funding.

Focal awards: multilingual futures for UK growth and connectivity

Submit an outline application for funding to recruit and train doctoral students through a doctoral focal award which seeks to unlock linguistic and cultural expertise. These awards will provide opportunities through partnership between higher education institutions (HEI) and non-HEI partners.

UK registered organisations can apply for a share of up to £150 million to create scale up manufacturing facilities for zero emission vehicle technologies.
